Seems like the National League has a better idea on what they're doing. If the All-Star game is supposed to count, why is the AL bringing Jason Varitek? Unless you're a Red Sox fan or an idiot, he is about as deserving to be on an All-Star team as Kevin Cash (69 OPS+, .308 OBP), the Sox backup catcher. The Challenger explosion was less of a tragedy.

Ichiro instead of Milton Bradley? Bradley has 14 more homers, 33 more RBI, and is .072 higher in OBP. Picking Ichiro is like picking George W. Bush to run a country.

Update: Bradley is in due to Ortiz being selected despite being on the disabled list for like two months. So...good for Bradley.

This is why fans shouldn't be allowed to vote?

If it counts, fans probably shouldn't vote, but then again, the players voted in Varitek, so maybe MLB should just not have the All-Star game matter towards home field advantage.
