Well, in the U.S. we have no problem letting people die in prison, which seems to make sense. The guy got a life sentence, which to me means dying in prison. I'm not sure why it matters how he dies. Also, in theory, even if he's sick he is still a threat.
Terminally ill bombers seem like the BIGGEST suicide bomber threats. Go out with a bang, and all that. I think it would matter if he died that way, instead of in prison.
